FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2013The Washington High School Concert Choir Variety Show, Dessert and Silent Auction, is an evening of entertainment provided by the members of Washington High School’s preeminent vocal ensemble, the Concert Choir. The Concert Choir is comprised 54 select Junior and Senior students who love to pursue an exceptionally high level of vocal music performance. The Variety Show will be comprised of 18 – 24 acts featuring the singing, dancing, acting, poetic, and creative talents of the Concert Choir members. During intermission, a cheese cake dessert will be served as audience members peruse the silent auction placing bids on prize packages put together by the concert choir students. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE CONCERT CHOIR STUDENTS’ INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISING TRAVEL ACCOUNTS. The tickets are $15 each and include admission to the show and a dessert intermission. Contact Kirk.Schjodt@k12.sd.us for ticket information.

The Orpheum Theater opened in 1913 as a vaudeville house and seats just under 700 (originally seating 1000). The elegant and beautifully preserved theatre served in this capacity until 1954, when the Community Playhouse group acquired the Orpheum for its home.
