Calista Kirby, the new Miss South Dakota, will be a special guest at the finals at 6pm. She will do her award winning gymnastics routine to the music "Defying Gravity" from Wicked that helped her win the state title. Calista will compete in the Miss America Pageant in January.
The Orpheum Theater opened in 1913 as a vaudeville house and seats just under 700 (originally seating 1000). The elegant and beautifully preserved theatre served in this capacity until 1954, when the Community Playhouse group acquired the Orpheum for its home.
