South Dakota Festival Of Books (Orpheum Theater)
Friday . September 26 & Saturday . September 27, 2008The Sixth Annual South Dakota Festival of Books is set for September 26-28 in downtown Sioux Falls! This event, "where readers and writers rendezvous" will offer something for everyone, and with the exception of special events, everything is free and open to the public.

The Orpheum Theater opened in 1913 as a vaudeville house and seats just under 700 (originally seating 1000). The elegant and beautifully preserved theatre served in this capacity until 1954, when the Community Playhouse group acquired the Orpheum for its home.
