Sioux Empire Community Theater presents: I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick
Friday - Sunday. November 6 - 8Andrew Rally has it all: he's a TV star with a rich, beautiful girlfriend, a devoted agent, the perfect apartment, and the opportunity to play Hamlet in New York. All is not well, however, in Denmark. Andrew's series get canceled; his girlfriend is upset; and he hates the play Hamlet. To top it off, a seance summons the ghost of famous actor John Barrymore, who shows up dressed in high Shakespearean garb and nothing will ever be the same. The laughs turn nonstop as Andrew wrestles with his conscience, with Barrymore (and his sword), and ultimately with his decisison to be or not to be Hamlet in Central Park.

The Orpheum Theater opened in 1913 as a vaudeville house and seats just under 700 (originally seating 1000). The elegant and beautifully preserved theatre served in this capacity until 1954, when the Community Playhouse group acquired the Orpheum for its home.
